About The Living Image Gallery

The Living Image Gallery features new and unpublished images by Inye Wokoma. The gallery will feature a new show every two months. With every show Inye Wokoma collaborates with writers, thinkers, artists and activists to create exhibits that explore our world in new and provocative ways.

This exhibit, Young Dreamer, brings you the works of poets Christa Bell, Tamara Madison-Shaw, Erwin Thomas, and Inye Wokoma in a probing, funky, and sometimes sentimental look at African-American children.

We hope you enjoy our presentation.

Speak to me of how pirates become national heroes
Teach me why I have never been president
What of my place in the U.S. senate
Speak to me of oral histories
Told through blues and rhythm melodies
Speak to me of extended family
Of being raised by my Grandmother
Speak to me of cultural context
How we do...
